Q: When I try to print, all I get is a blank sheet of paper!
A: We have had a few users complain that they are getting only blank printouts. This problem appears to affect Lexmark and Compaq IJ printers, but may include others. We have created a "patch" programme which you can download and run on your computer to fix this problem. Please see our Downloads page for more information. [top]
Q: My printouts don't look right.
A: If you are getting errors when printing or if your printouts don't look the way they should, try changing the colour depth of you monitor.
For Macintosh users:
- Go to Apple Menu > Control Panels > Display > Settings
- Select 'Thousands' or 'Millions' (Control Panels > Display > Settings).

For PC users:
- Right click anywhere on the desktop.
- Select properties from the small drop down menu.
- Then click settings, you should now see a drop down menu titled "colours", just select 24bit or 32bit from the menu.We recommend 24-bit colour or better, but if you are having problems, try setting the depth to 16-bit.

Q: I have an old computer. What do I need to run the Art-ROMs?
A: For a PC, you need a minimum of: 800 x 600 screen resolution; CD-ROM drive; 24-bit colour depth (true colour); Intel Pentium® 166 processor; Windows 95/98 or NT 4.0 or later. [top]
For a Macintosh, you need a minimum of: 800 x 600 screen resolution; CD-ROM drive; PowerPC 120 Macintosh; System 8.1 or later, 32MB of installed RAM; colour monitor.
Q: Can I use my Art-ROM on an Apple Macintosh with OS X?
A: Yes, but the Art-ROM program will run in "Classic" mode, rather than as an OS X native application. [top]
Q: Create your own Fashion Designs:
When I try to place the clothes, faces, hair etc. they snap into weird places. Like the faces snap on too far down on the head. And the clothes snap on to one side of the body instead of directly on top.
A: This is because your screen colour depth isn't set high enough, it needs to be set to 32bit (minimum).
For Macintosh users:
- Go to Apple Menu > Control Panels > Display > Settings
- Select 'Millions' (see screen shot above)
For PC users:
- Right click anywhere on the desktop.
- Select properties from the small drop down menu.
- Then click settings, you should now see a drop down menu titled "colours", just select 32bit from the menu (see screen shot above) [top]
Q: Create your own Fashion Designs:
I created some really nice fashions and saved them to my disc, but now I can't seem to open them again.
A: A few of our users have experienced this problem. See our Downloads page for full instructions on how to correct this problem. [top]
Q: After selecting English language, I cannot get past the next screen. "Welcome to..." appears and I can't do anything except choose "escape".
A: You should be able to see the word "enter" at the bottom of the screen (see image below).

If you can, just click it to run the program. If you can't then you probably need to change your screen resoultion to 800x600, to do this:
For Macintosh users:
- Go to Apple Menu > Control Panels > Display > Settings
- Select the 800x600 option (or greater).
For PC users:
- Right click on the desktop and click on properties.
- Then click on settings.
- You should see a slider control called "screen control". Adjust that until you have "800 by 600 pixels" (or greater)
- Restart your computer. [top]
