My Daughter is only 2, but really enjoyed listening to the story and pointing out Hiku on each page. He is recognised by his heart shaped tummy. Hearts are a theme throughout the backgrounds which encourages the child to look for them, and gives the feeling of love and security, which is what this book teaches. Love and family values. A lovely book to share with your little ones.

You are correct! The Greek artist collected stones from her local beach and painted them to look like penguins. If you like Hiku! you may be interested to learn that a follow-up title 'Little Donkey' is due out in Spring 2011. Top That!

Really like the book and my son (aged 3) loves looking for Hiku on each page. Just wondered, are the individual penguins painted on stones?
